Desire Beyond the Binary This paper proposes the thesis that we live in a society, often named as developed word, in which the unconscious desire, as defined in psychoanalysis, as impossible and always insisting neurotic desire, is in decline, while jouissance, other that phallic jouissance, is on the upswing. This decline in the neurotic desire, results in a loss rather than a gain of freedom for the subject, exposing the subject to the superego command of capitalism, to enjoy. |
